Thanks for replying to my post on "Separation of Church and State"
Your comments were very enlightening as to the situation in Singapore.
Thanks again.

Thanks for your comment on my "Separation of Church and State" thread.
I agree that the amount of worshipers of a certain religion will always "imbalance" things but since most major religions preach living in peace with others it should not be that big a deal.
Thanks again for your input

Thanks for your comment on my thread on the "Separation of Church and State"
I totally agree that the church and state should remain separate and I would also be curious if anyone knew of a theocratic state where there was religious freedom and it ran well.
Thanks again

I see that you also understand that historically when religion has become involved in politics that things go downhill very quickly.

Its always good to get different views on these types of issues

Yes many religions are very imperialistic from the standpoint that they are always seeking new converts but there interference/meddling in politics results in the religions becoming twisted by power and the interests of a few people. After all how would the three major religions be today if they had merely supported the people instead of trying to gain power through the governments. I think we would be alot better off that we are today if that had been the case.

I agree that the impact of religion on politics is a large one but I still say the separation of church and state is supposed to ensure no one religion is allowed to unduly influence the state and that the religions present in the state are protected from the graft and corruption of the political systems.

Its a fine line to walk but it should be possible to do it.
Thanks again for your input. :)

Quote by Mortiferatrinidad156 Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you and your family. And try not to burn too many humans to a crisp, it's Christmas after all XD...maybe you could just, ummm...send them away or something, when they trespass your territory, who knows, maybe you might get a gift or two for that lol :D...

Take care, fly safely and keep the fires cool. Happy holidays.

***from the mortal Emilia***

Why thank you very much and a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours as well.

Nah I don't cook many humans (except those idiotic knights going around and molesting dragons as well as the occasional maiden (which really burns me up) and depressing the opressed). I did build a knight catapult once... I think its at the back of the lair somewhere.
I get plenty of gifts from the locals and the lord of the realm for my services as protector and general services. You know cattle, sheep, wine, beer (although the beer tends to get distributed at parties since I am not a big fan of it), the occassional sacks of semi precious stones they pick up in the streams, and of course the gold that the lord of the realm pays me in.

Thanks for the good wishes

Quote by cerealjoe(just a note above the posts above mine saying things like "japanese, italian, etc.", well most of that is actually pseudo foreign food because it's set to the taste of the local country and has long lost most of its links with the original country)

Yeah that is true, most "ethnic" food served outside of its original country has been tweaked to fit local tastes. However if you can make friends with people of those ethnicities (exchange students are good for this), or find a restaurant that stays true to the food then you can get the real stuff.

Thanks for participating in my thread too.

Quote by Mortiferatrinidad156Sushi would be at the top of my list, and Pizza, I guess. For deserts, Kydonia sto Fourno( Greek ) or Scandinavian rice puddings ( mouth waters...).

Thanks for contributin to my thread. What is this Kydonia sto Fourno? Don't think I have heard of it.

Quote by marysonnieThe only foreign food I've tried and disliked is Thai food, though I'd be up for trying it again.

?You disliked AND you would like to try it again? You go to a bad place to get it or something? or maybe you got some full force Thai that was too spicy for you?

Oh Yeah, thanks for participating in my thread

Quote by ChikyChiky1994Oh God, Chinese is so good, but I LOVE Italian, like baked zitti (sp?) (Paste with herbs & tomato sauce baked with melted cheese and zucchini... AAAAAAH *orgasm*)

Whoaa there little lady :) I guess you really like your foods but if you are going for the really good Italian stuff then head for the Italian desserts.

f

Quote by Eva7IqusI love spicy asian food, Hi-Chews (Ume flavor all the way!), and Italian pizza.

Thanks for participating in my thread on foreign foods. I agree with you on spicy asian foods but what are Hi-Chews? Never heard of them before.
I guess you like the real Italian pizzas which unfortunately we don't get much of over here (the tendancy to Americanize things including food tends to unfortunately change, sometimes radically, the taste from its original.)

Thanks for participating in my continuation of the Religions Talk thread. Nice question on how we view God. It seems to have generated some debate.

Thanks for participating in my continuation of the Religions Talk thread. I always like getting other peoples point of view. Also I agree on the item saying that miracles do not necessarily have to be unexplainable to be miracles.
